The purpose of discipline is to correct unacceptable performance or behavior.  If done properly having a constructive discussion with an employee can have a positive outcome.  I call this “positive discipline.”  Yes, it sounds strange, but it has the effect of correcting the problem without conflict.  The attached form is what I have used for many years to ensure discipline conversations are documented to avoid confusion.  Call me if you’d like to discuss how to use this process.
